Summer Graduation 2026 at Andrews University

Andrews University’s Summer Graduation will take place during the weekend of July 31–Aug. 2, 2026. Events will begin on Friday with a Vespers service, followed by a Baccalaureate service on Sabbath and two Commencement services on Sunday morning.
Both Commencement services will take place at the Andreasen Center for Wellness, and the Friday Vespers and Baccalaureate service will be held at Pioneer Memorial Church.

Edison scholarship lights up opportunities for La Sierra STEM students

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – It came at the right time––the $2,500 scholarship from Edison International for tuition costs was a lifeline for La Sierra University mathematics graduate Aaron Hernandez, allowing him to move toward his goal of becoming a math teacher.
Hernandez, who graduated in June with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, was among eight students at the Seventh-day Adventist university recognized as Edison STEM Scholars during spring quarter.
Transplant Institute reaches significant milestone: Team completes 5,000th kidney transplant

Loma Linda University Health’s Transplant Institute reached a major milestone on July 1, 2026 completing its 5,000th kidney transplant. Since performing its first kidney transplant in April 1967, the institute has provided compassionate, expert care to thousands of patients with end-stage kidney disease. The landmark procedure was performed by Minh-Tri Nguyen, MD, PhD.
Alum Dr. André Denham Named Associate Provost & Dean

Starting on July 1, Dr. André Denham, a 2001 alum, will begin a new role as Associate Provost and Dean of the Graduate School at the University of Alabama.
“Dr. Denham currently serves as the associate dean for graduate academic affairs, leading campuswide efforts in creating new graduate programs, accreditation, and student and professional development, among other duties. He is also a professor of instructional technology in the College of Education.
PUC Hosts West Coast Korean Camp Meeting

From July 19-26, over 1,000 people gathered at Pacific Union College for the West Coast Korean Camp Meeting, an event that has been held on campus for decades. An annual event hosted among the Korean-American Seventh-day Adventist Churches across the western states, with the support of the Southern California Conference, their theme this year was “Build Church – Building Faith, Family, and Church.”
As they focused on the church they wanted to create for the future, the camp meeting was a great time for family, friends, and churches to come to one place and worship together.

The Department of Nursing at Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) has launched a new certificate for graduate nurses to become certified educators. This certificate provides essential tools for registered nurses to transition into formal educator roles within both academic institutions and clinical practice settings. The efficient, flexible program consists of 3 to 4 eight-week courses and can be completed in as little as 11 months.

Washington Adventist University Establishes University Relations Sector

TAKOMA PARK, Md. — Washington Adventist University (WAU) has approved a significant organizational restructuring designed to strengthen the University’s external engagement, institutional communications, alumni relations, and advancement efforts.
The University’s Cabinet has approved the merger of the Integrated Marketing & Communications (IMC) Department with the Advancement & Alumni Relations Department to establish a new University Relations sector. This newly created University Relations sector reflects a strategic shift that aligns WAU with organizational models commonly used across higher education.
