Grant Funds Parkinson’s Therapy Program at AHU’s Hope Clinic

Near the end of the fall semester last year, a student approached Kalicia Clements, associate professor in Southern Adventist University’s School of Education, Psychology, and Counseling, with a small but troubling concern. She had lost something important. They paused together to offer a simple, earnest prayer, asking Jesus to keep the item safe and help her find it.
When classes resumed in January, the student returned with unexpected news. She had found the missing item. For Clements, the moment marked more than an answered prayer.

 

Southwestern Adventist University Launches New Nursing Educator Certificate

The Department of Nursing at Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU) has launched a new certificate for graduate nurses to become certified educators. This certificate provides essential tools for registered nurses to transition into formal educator roles within both academic institutions and clinical practice settings. The efficient, flexible program consists of 3 to 4 eight-week courses and can be completed in as little as 11 months.

MOT program awarded top accreditation

Union Adventist University’s newest graduate program has just been awarded a seven-year accreditation — the highest possible endorsement for a new master’s of occupational therapy program.
Union recently introduced the only OT “bridge” program in the Midwest. “It is designed to build on the foundation that occupational therapy assistants already have,” says program director Emily Rumery. “The full-time pathway allows students to complete the master’s program in just two years. The part-time pathway extends that out by one additional year.”

In early June, Walla Walla University’s Department of Technology hosted their annual Product Design Showcase: Flow of Innovation. This year, however, they increased the event’s scale, devoting an entire 10-week class towards organizing, marketing, and hosting it.

The Environment Design class primarily focused on creating spaces and experiences that connect users to their environment. Under the instruction of Jefre Humbert, professor of product design, and Josie Henderson, assistant professor of product design, 10 designers completely transformed the Canaday Technology Center’s Woodworking Lab.
