For nearly two decades, Southern has consistently received a Top Tier ranking from U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Colleges” guide. We offer more than 100 undergraduate majors, 12 master’s programs, and even a doctorate degree to our 3,000 students who come from nearly every state (and many different countries, too). Still, we maintain a small campus feel with a 13:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Southern is committed to student success, working closely with students to ensure they meet their academic goals. It’s common to find students spontaneously praying or participating in an impromptu worship session on our campus. There are so many ways to grow in your faith at Southern, it’s easy to find one that will help you draw closer to Christ.

Enjoy a spiritual adventure with as many as 70 student missionaries Southern sends around the world each year, or make a difference closer to campus. Student-led outreach groups help you match your talents with a ministry that cares for the elderly, feeds the homeless, or witnesses to the community in a variety of other ways. You can also get involved in one of our many on-campus small groups. And with 30 Adventist churches in the area, there are plenty of options for finding the right church family for you.

Power for Body

There’s ample space to engage in recreational activities on our 1,300-acre campus. Whether biking the Bauxite Ridge trails, climbing the Goliath Wall, or exploring the cave on campus, there’s always something for the adventurous. Southern also offers an excellent intramural program in which more than half of the student body participates. Intramurals offer students the opportunity to build amazing friendships while playing the sports they love.

If you enjoy a regular workout, Hulsey Wellness Center provides access to workout stations along with fitness rooms, walking tracks, two indoor pools, and a climbing wall. Southern is the perfect place to develop a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
